Quaid-i-Azam University: MPhil Admissions Fall Semester 2010

Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad has invited applications for admission to M.Phil. programs in the faculties of Biological Sciences, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences for Fall Semester 2010.

Eligibility

The candidate must have:

  1. 1st Division in M.A/M.Sc. degree or its equivalent or in B.A./B.Sc. but no 3rd division in M.A./M.Sc. or B.A B.Sc.

Admission Schedule

The Admission Form can be obtained from the office of the Assistant Registrar (Admissions) for Rs.650 by hand or by sending self addressed envelope of 8.5 x 11 (inches) along with a Bank Draft of Rs.700/- in favor of the Treasurer, Quaid-i-Azam University.

Three copies of application on prescribed forms duly supported by the attested Photostat copies of the certificates of academic qualifications, domicile, character, detailed marks, migration (in original) along with 5 (five) passport size photographs and No Objection Certificate from the employer, in case of in-service candidates, should reach the Chairman/Director of the respective Department/Institute/Centre by August 10, 2010 during office hours.

Frontier Medical College: MBBS and BDS Admissions

Frontier Medical College, Abbottabad has invited application for admission to MBBS and BDS programs. The programs of study are open to both male and female candidates from all provinces of Pakistan and also to candidates of all nationalities from abroad.

Eligibility

Applicants for admission to MBBS and BDS must have passed:

  1. F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) from a Board of Intermediate in Pakistan in First Division securing at least 60% marks.
  2. Or any examination of a foreign university or college/school which in scope and standard is found equivalent to F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) examination of Pakistan, such as:
    1. The British GCE A-level
    2. The American / Canadian High School examinations SAT-II or MCAT
    3. Higher Secondary School examination of the Middle East
    4. Baccalaureate examination

Invitation for Entry Test and Interview

After scrutinizing all applications, candidates found suitable are informed through letters the date, time and venue of the Entry Test.

Entry test

The Entry Test is an objective type of examination in the form of multiple choice type of questions (MCQ) based on the standard of F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) in the subjects of English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

It is a requirement of PMDC that all candidates applying for admission in MBBS or BDS are to appear in the provincial government’s Entry Test in the province of their domicile and they have to submit a copy of the result to the college.

In case of those candidates in whose province Entry Test is not held their Entry Test will be taken by the college.

Aptitude Interview

After the Entry Test, based on merit the top 120 candidates are invited for Aptitude Interview by the Admission Selection Committee of the college.

The date, time and venue of the Aptitude Interview will be communicated individually to the candidates.

Merit

Candidates are selected for Admission on Merit which will be based on the Entry Test marks, F.Sc marks, Matriculation marks and Aptitude Interview marks.

Foreign and Overseas Students

Foreign / overseas students are welcome to apply. They must have passed an examination from a university, college or school, which in scope and standard is equivalent to F.Sc (Pre-Medical) (with subjects of Biology, Physics and Chemistry) of Pakistan such as:

  • The British G.C.E A-Level examination
  • American High School examination

They have to submit their transcript of A-Level and SAT-II score in support of their applications.

Prospectus and Application Form

The College prospectus along with the prescribed application can be obtained from the college or by sending a demand draft or money order of Rs.600 in the name of Frontier Medical College Abbottabad from within Pakistan or US$60 from abroad.

This completed application form accompanied with a demand draft of Rs.1,000 from within Pakistan and US$100 from foreign and overseas applicants in the name of Frontier Medical college, as the Admission Processing Fee should be submitted latest by July 31, 2010.

Postal requests will also be entertained on payment of Rs.1,100/- through bank draft drawn on NBP Sheikhupura Road, Malik Pur, Manawala, Faisalabad (0889) or ABL Sheikhupura Road, Manawala, Faisalabad (0260) or money order/postal order in favor of National Textile University, Faisalabad.

The University prospectus along with admission form will be available from July 19,2010 (Monday) from the Admission Office in person on payment of Rs.1,000.

Punjab Medical College: Admission to Diploma in Ophthalmic Medicine

Punjab Medical College, Faisalabad has invited applications from candidates for admission in the following postgraduate medical course for the year 2010-2011.

— D.O.M.S (Diploma in Ophthalmic Medicine) (duration: 2 years)

The following are the guidelines for applicants to DO.MS course.

1. The candidate should apply to the Principal, Punjab Medical College, Faisalabad on the printed forms on the payment of Rs.200 available at the Account Section of Punjab Medical College, Faisalabad.

2. Forms can also be downloaded from the website of PMC, Faisalabad. These applicants have to deposit pay order/demand draft of Rs.200 in the favor of Principal, PMC, Faisalabad along with application form. Applications can be sent to the Admission Cell through courier services.

3. Government employees should submit their applications through proper channel on prescribed forms and submit the advance copy of admission form with the official approval of Principal / Chief Executive/Head of Institution directly to the Principal, Punjab Medical College, Faisalabad to be submitted in the Admission Cell of Punjab Medical College, Faisalabad.

4. All rules and regulation will apply as per Punjab Government deputation policy for Punjab Government employees.

5. Others who apply will be considered as private applicants. Private candidates should send/submit the application forms directly to the Admission Cell PMC, Faisalabad.

6. One admission form will be considered only for one course.

7. All the applications should be accompanied with attested copies of the following.

i. Matriculation and F.Sc / B.Sc. / M.Sc. certificate.

ii. M.B.B.S.M.D (Equivalence Certificate of PMDC should be attached).

iii. Certificate from the Principal of the Medical College stating the number of attempts and marks obtained in each professional examination of M.B.B.S/M.D (Attempts Certificate).

vi. Rural area service certificate. Army service certificate with exact dates and places where served, from the concerned Director Health Services/Competent Authority respectively.

vii. Valid registration certificate of PMDC.

viii. Domicile Certificate.

ix. Four Passport size photographs duly attested (one front and three back).

x. First appointment letter from the Government of the Punjab, Health Department, Lahore as Medical Officer on regular basis.

xi All the documents/certificates should have official stamp dispatch No. and date of tie concerned office / College / University / Hospital,

xii. Certificate from the Controlling Officer that the candidate is Punjab Public Service Commission selectee and no disciplinary action is pending against the candidate.

8. Applications with incomplete documents will not be considered for admission.

9. Following is the criterion for the admission in D.O.M.S. course for the session 2010-11

Preference No 1

a. 6 Months Medicine and Allied as House Officer / Medical Officer from recognized institution

b. 6 Months Surgery and Allied as House Officer / Medical Officer from recognized institution

c. 6 Months Ophthalmology as House Officer / Medical Officer from recognized institution.

Preference No 2

a. One year experience in Ophthalmology as House Officer / Medical Officer from a recognized institution.

or

b. Six months experience in Ophthalmology and Six months in General Medicine or surgery as House Officer / Medical Officer.

10. Eligible candidates will be called for interview along with original documents. No TA/DA will be given.

11. Selected candidates will deposit course fee of Rs.10,000 per annum and University Registration Fee (Rs.1,500) along with the call letter and the affidavit.

12. Admission is liable to be’ cancelled during the course if any discrepancy be found in submitted documents.

The information regarding conditions of admission in above mentioned course will be supplied to the candidate along with application form.
